Hermès
The Discord bot for freelancers, from order to review.
Hermès, messenger of the gods and patron of trade, runs a freelancer's Discord server. It takes orders, opens a client space for each project, notifies the client at every step and collects their review. Around that: member verification, welcome images, automoderation, social feeds and mini-games.
Hermès is free and hosted: nothing to install, just invite it to your server and follow the onboarding on hermes.salks.fr.
What it does
| Module | In short |
|---|---|
| Orders | A form with your questions, quote, client space, delivery |
| Progress tracking | Pinned progress bar, client notified at every step |
| Client reviews | 1 to 5 stars and a comment, posted in your reviews channel |
| Verification | DM with a captcha on join, "Unverified" role meanwhile |
| Welcome | Image generated with the member's avatar, background from an image link |
| Automoderation | Spam, invites, links, banned words, mentions, caps |
| Social feeds | Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X, Twitch and RSS, with a role ping |
| Mini-games | Coin flip, dice, 8ball, rock-paper-scissors, tic-tac-toe |
Every bot reply is a Components V2 card, Discord's newest message format.
How it is built
Two separate applications. The bot (TypeScript, discord.js 14, MySQL) talks to Discord and keeps the configuration. The site and panel (Next.js) handle login and the interface: they know neither the bot token nor the database, and go through an internal API that checks live that you can manage the server.
Add Hermès and follow the onboarding, then read the life of an order: it is the heart of the bot.
